« Interprofessional Education in Health: Why? How? Have we missed something? »

This session will briefly review the most recent evidence for IPE and collaborative practice models in health and will provide examples of tips and techniques for engaging students in IPE. There are many strategies to choose from today and a discussion about some of the models and resources will help to create a framework for the work at Laval, building effectively on existing work. There is also a potential layer of collaboration that we have not yet explored which could affect the way we teach and assess collaboration amongst health care providers, both students and practitioners. Areas such as social capital, perspective taking, and rhetoric may help us to put the "I" back in team and teach personal accountability for effective collaboration. These areas will be presented and discussed in the context of IPE.
